Buy Guitars Online in Australia
Karrera's guitar range covers every stage of playing, from a child's first 34-inch acoustic to full-size electric, electro-acoustic, 12-string and bass guitars. Most of our guitars are priced under $100, so they suit first-time players, students and anyone wanting an affordable second guitar. Every instrument ships from our warehouse in Braeside, Melbourne.
Which Type of Guitar Should I Buy?
- Acoustic guitars need no amp, which makes them the most popular choice for beginners, songwriters and casual strumming. Choose from 38, 40 and 41-inch models, 12-string guitars and electro-acoustics with a built-in EQ.
- Electric guitars suit rock, blues, pop and metal. Our 39-inch full-size electrics have a whammy bar and adjustable bridge, and we also stock 4-string electric bass guitars.
- Kids' guitars are real, scaled-down acoustic and electric guitars sized for smaller hands, not plastic toys.
Something a Little Different
Looking beyond the six-string? Explore our lap steel guitars, 5 and 6-string banjos, mandolins and ukuleles. We also carry resonator guitars and a 25-inch cuatro.
Guitar Buying FAQs
What size guitar do I need?
As a rough guide, a 34-inch guitar suits most children aged about 5 to 9, a 38-inch guitar suits older children, teens and smaller adults, and a 40 or 41-inch full-size guitar suits most adults. The right size lets the player rest their arm over the body and reach the first fret without stretching.
Should a beginner start on acoustic or electric?
Both work. An acoustic is simpler, with nothing to plug in, while an electric has lighter strings that are easier on the fingers but needs an amplifier. Choose the style of music the player wants to play, because that keeps them practising.
Do Karrera guitars come with a warranty?
Yes. Instruments bought for home use come with a warranty of up to 12 months, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
